What Are The Secrets to Great Health?

Many people ask us what is one of the most important secrets to great health. Well, do you really know the evils of sugar? One of the most dangerous substances we put into our bodies is sugar and its all around us! Want to lose weight and keep it off? Please read this very carefully.

Sugar is not your friend and its amazing how much is in the things we eat. One of the things we have learned to do is read the labels on each item at the grocery store before buying it. If it has more than 5 grams of sugar we try to stay away from it. One sugar cube is equal to one teaspoon or 4.17 grams of sugar. When reading labels become familiar with sugar terminology and recognize that all of these are sweeteners or some form of sugar: corn syrup, corn sugar, high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, dextrose, honey, molasses, turbinado sugar and brown sugar. All are NOT GOOD!

Daily recommended intake for sugar is 12 teaspoons or no more than 40 grams for a 2,000 calorie diet. To maintain your weight you need to net 100 calories for every 100 pounds that you weigh.

Unknown So if you want to weigh 150 pounds means you can only net 1500 calories per day (100 x 150). Two other important things to consider are your intake of salt and bad fats. Current government guidelines recommend less than 2,300 mg of sodium per day for people over age 2. Most Americans consume about 3,500 milligrams daily. An entire meal should contain no more than 600 milligrams. Acceptable fat is about 65 grams daily on a 2,000 calorie diet.

Have you ever bought a new car or wanted one? If you could pick anyone car and not have to pay for it, which one would you choose? A Mercedes, BMW, Rolls Royce, etc? After picking your selection if the manufacture provided a recommended maintenance plan including type of gas, oil selection, timing of changing oil, water in the battery, checkups, etc. would you follow their recommendation? Most people would!  You need to think of your body like that expensive car but worth so much more. Get the picture in your mind. Now consider your body is that car you just picked and said you would follow the plan. You wouldn’t put low grade gas in the tank? You wouldn’t run the car with oil? You wouldn’t put tape over a warning light on the dashboard? But that’s what most of us do when it come to our body. We need to start thinking about our body as we would treat our car. WeI think everyone would agree that our body is certainly more important than a car! Picture your body as that car of you choice and treat yourself even better. Yes, you can do it!

Once you know the facts that the food manufactures don’t want you to know about the evils of sugar because its bad for their business and they really don’t care about your health. America is hooked on sugar and its time to take control of the situation and fight back!
